What is Electron?


Electron is a software tool enabling a business to transact electronically with any other business (even those not e-enabled) in a web-based peer to peer environment. Electron functionality covers the buyside and sellside aspects of your business. You can fully electrify your supply chain without restricting your trading partners or getting 'locked-in' to a particular solution for each trading relationship.

You use the Electron tool to manage Catalogues, Purchase orders, Invoices and Post-transaction information and have complete control over who sees what and when. It makes it easy to trade goods and services internationally and/or domestically and across multiple cost centres and shipping locations.

It encompasses complex international and domestic trade negotiation functionality through to post-transaction management components.

What is the Ether?

Ether is a dynamic directory/catalogue and advanced search engine application that facilitates a high degree of inter-enterprise connectivity,  but servicing different levels of the Global Commerce Solutions.

Ether links to other searchable databases like common search engines and industry-specific organisation lists. Use Ether as to manage all your organisational directory listings from one place.

With a sophisticated search mechanism, it facilitates the identification of potential trading partners using the inbuilt, internationally used Harmonised Tariff Code (HTC or HS) and UNSPSC coding methodologies.

Each Ether is a dynamic directory/catalogue and advanced search engine application that facilitates a high degree of inter-enterprise connectivity,  but servicing different levels of the Global Commerce Solutions.

For instance, a sub-Ether may be employed by an industry body or an umbrella group and configured to contain industry or capability-specific data, populated and managed individually by it's members via Electrons. Industry bodies or trading groups wishing to make data available to other trading groups can map data regionally, across sub-Ethers or globally. Critically, here is a tool that gives managers specific control to apply dynamic strategies in dynamic markets. Ask one of our people to guide you through practical strategies that until now were only economic theory!

For instance, a franchised organisation would configure a sub-Ether for their franchisees to collaborate and share data. Importantly, the actual 'transaction' will take place in the Electron on a one-to-one basis independent of the Ether. This is the critical difference between Ether and 'eMarketplace-style' directories.

Catalogues, purchase orders, invoices and post-transaction information are transferred electronically between Electron systems. The Ethers are facilitators, enabling Electrons to find each other for the first time.
